Anyone feels like wanting to make a new pc? Well the Official Windows 7 mascot Nanami Madobe who is voiced by singer and seiyu artist named Nana Mizuki  has appeared in her own anime, appearing and sounding cute encouraging the general public to build their own PC  and in a comical way  in a shape of a little Windows Media Centre box.

Although undeniably glossy and well regarded, Nanami actually seems to have achieved little footing in comparison to her other  previous OS-tans  sisters– the amount of fan art of her is minimal, and she is entirely devoid of the kind of tongue-in-cheek references which made previous OS-tans so appealing.

The Sands SkyPark is a only one of its kind structure designed by the architect Moshe Safdie in which this structural masterwork is floating on top of the three soaring Marina bay Sands hotel tower 200m in the sky. A preview opening was conducted on the April 25th, 2010 and a grand opening version is on 23rd of June 2010.

This building is longer than the Eiffel tower when it is laid down or the total length of four and a half A380 Jumbo Jets with a notable 12,400 square meters of space and the SkyPark can host up to 3900 people. It is noted that this building is the largest and one of its kind in the world.

The Sands Skypark features a heavenly landscaped garden which houses 250 different types of trees and 650 different types of plants. There are three swimming pools which are placed on this structure with a surreal infinity edge overlooking the city. The building houses several luxurious restaurants and lounges while providing a beautiful and breathtaking view of the city below. Here is an interesting one: Imagine a place to catch some sleep but in a stylish cool box plus it saves area space. Sounds cool right, well here it is, it is called mini hotels which has been slowly becoming the latest trend. Capsule inn exemplifies the bare-essentials hotel rooms for brief use, and similar concepts are popping up at airports, train stations and downtowns around the world, replacing and mimicking the “day rooms” already existing at many airports. This trend has spread to a number of airports including Yotel pods in Gatwick and Heathrow airports in London and Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

Unlike their Japanese counterpart which only contains a bed and a tv, the western version are more spacious that comes with a bed, a table, a HD Tv , a wifi a place to stash your luggage and plenty of sockets to charge up your laptop or your mobile phone. Design such as these can provide an excelant comfort for people who wants to take a quick nap in fact better than sleeping on the chair. Sleep Box is designed by a Russian company called Arch Group with the mindset that the design can be installed at train stations and airports, and central public places or cities where accommodation is fully booked.  the cubic size is mesuared to be by 2 m x 1,40m x 2,30m to provide execellant comfort. Payment is made at terminals where clients are given an electronic key to accessed the box  that can be purchased to sleep for 15 minutes or for as many hours as the person needed.

The fourth Yotel is set to arrive in New York in 2011 with a location opening on 42nd and 10th street boasting 669 luxury rooms and the largest outside terrace in any hotel in New York . Also in Amsterdam, Citizen M has a hotel with 230 mini rooms at Schiphol Airport and a 215-room hotel in Amsterdam City. Citizen M plans to open similar hotels across Europe.

Rumour has it too that Dubai will install 50 to 70 of these sleep boxes in their Dubai Airport. It is hoped that this trnd can spread around the world and travel will be less of a headache especaily people who suffered with delay flights or waiting for long hours for the next one and don’t forget back pack travellers.

Here is an interesting website. It is called the www.thecoolhunter.com.au. It contains many architecture  pictures and many other different categories such as fashion, lifestyle and many more. One of its post caught my eye is the building named Vitra Haus designed by Herzog and de Meuron which is a new home of www.vitra.com home collection. The building concept is based on tho themes which is the theme of a archetypal house and the ever present stacked-houses concept which made the design beautiful fresh and unique.

The building is five stories high and it contains 12 separate houses. The house is geared toward the general public and design-aware consumers who will appreciate the building as well as the Vitra products inside as there is no interior space available for the presentation of the home collection on the vitra campus in weil am rhein, between the border of Switzerland and Germany, the company commissioned the basel-based architects herzog & de meuron in 2006 to design the ‘vitrahaus’.

below are some of the exterior shots of the building:
